Assistant Waste Site Manager | Chelmsford

  • Based at CM3 3FY
  • Full Time - Permanent
  • Monday - Friday 
  • £45,000-£55,000 Per Year

We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Site Manager to join Dunmow Group to assist the Site Manager in the safe and efficient running of the Company’s Waste Treatment Facility located at Regiment Business Park, Chelmsford.

This role will require you to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Site and to directly manage all supervisory and direct & indirect operations staff under the guidance and direction of the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Take the lead on managing the day-to-day operations of the Site including the effective management of all incoming and outgoing loads, efficient operation of all processes, meeting KPI targets and material output specification requirements.

-A ccountability for the H&S of all Site activities including ensuring dynamic risk assessments are undertaken and that all Site Risk Assessments and SSOW are complied with by staff and visitors.

- Ensure that the Site is operated in line with all planning, Environmental Permit/Exemption requirements and Discharge Consents.

-Responsibility for operational staff management, including holidays, sickness, conduct and training.

- Work closely with other departments, including Logistics, Sales/Commercial, Compliance and Finance, to ensure the highest levels of customer service are achieved.

- Together with the Site Manager, be accountable for the profit and loss position of the Site.

Waste Site Supervisor | Chelmsford

As the Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the site including; leading the shift, ensuring a high production level of waste processing, ensuring waste separation is kept at the required level and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the site, managing incoming and outgoing loads, meeting KPI targets, and ensuring material output specifications are met.

- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols by conducting dynamic risk assessments and overseeing compliance with all site regulations.

- Ensure all systems are updated daily by all staff on your shift for all plant being used.

- Help to ensure the Company is compliant with insurance policies, environmental permits and waste planning.

Banksman | Chelmsford

Join our team at Dunmow Group as a Banksman, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operations at our Chelmsford site. As a Banksman, you will be responsible for coordinating vehicle movements on-site, guiding drivers to manoeuvre safely, and communicating effectively with the team to maintain a smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Direct vehicles safely within the premises, ensuring efficient traffic management.- Guide drivers during loading and unloading processes to prevent accidents and damage.

- Communicate effectively with drivers and site personnel to coordinate movements.

- Assist in maintaining a secure environment by enforcing safety regulations and procedures.- Report any incidents or hazards promptly to the appropriate authorities.

Plant Operator | Chelmsford

  • Based at CM3 3FY
  • Full Time - Permanent
  • Monday - Friday  (weekend availability)
  • £14 Per Hour

We are currently recruiting for a plant operator based at our Chelmsford site. You must have previous experience operating a range of heavy plant such as 360 Materials Handler, Loading Shovel and shredders. Knowledge of the waste industry – advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Operating a range of mobile and fixed plant safely.

- Conducting regular checks on machinery and work areas, reporting any problems.

- Monitoring all visiting suppliers for PPE and site compliance.

- Following all health and safety guidelines.

- Help to maintain a clean and tidy working area.

7.5 Tonne Driver | Chelmsford

  • Based at CM3 3FY
  • Full Time - Permanent
  • Monday -Friday  (weekend availability)
  • £13.25 per hour

We have an opportunity for a 7.5T driver for our We Collect Waste service. You will be responsible for helping our customers who want single or multiple items of waste collected from their homes/offices as part of a premium service. These items can range from small or single items such as mattresses, sofas and washing machines from domestic households up to office/commercial clearances from inside and outside of properties and gardens. As the 7.5t We Collect Waste driver, you are required to assist with the loading and unloading of items of waste we collect from our customers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Responsibility for the 7.5t vehicle allocated for the role including ensuring daily vehicle checks and care and condition of your vehicle

- Loading and unloading of the vehicle adhering to safe working procedures and risk assessments, especially in relation to manual handling rules

- Planning the shortest and best routes to customers, taking into account factors like roadworks and traffic.

- Demonstrate excellent customer service and provide site clearance in a professional, courteous and helpful manner

- Driving in a professional and courteous manner adhering to all road traffic regulations with particular attention to parking and loading restrictions

Class 2 RORO Driver | Chelmsford

  • Based at CM3 3BS
  • Monday-Friday (every other Saturday on rotation)
  • Up To £15.30 Per Hour

We are currently seeking to appoint HGV drivers with waste and aggregate experience who have the ability to drive predominately RoRo vehicles but may also be required to drive skip, tipper and grab lorries.

The Successful Candidate Will:

- Have a class 2 licence, CPC and Digi-card

-Have previous experience in driving similar vehicles- Have a minimum of 12 month of commercial driving experience

- Experience in the waste management or construction industry desirable

Day shifts from Monday to Friday with half-day shifts every other Saturday on a rotational basis (overtime rate for Saturdays). Working hours between 06:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday and between 06:30 – 12:30 on Saturdays.

HGV Skip Driver | Chelmsford

  • Based at CM3 3fY
  • Monday-Friday (weekend availability)
  • Up To £15,30PH

We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 drivers to join our skip fleet, delivering, collecting and exchanging skips to our commercial and domestic customers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Loading & unloading of skip bins to and from various sites safely

- Ensuring the condition and safety of the load being transported, that the skip is not overloaded and correctly sheeted

- Completing all paperwork is fully completed including times, signatures, weights and comments

- Ensuring that vision aids and safety features are always used to protect vulnerable road users

- Responsible for completing quality, detailed daily checks and reporting any defects

Skills & Experience:

- Full UK Class 2 License (Less than 3 points)

- Valid Driver CPC and Digi Card

- 12 months commercial driving experience

- Physically fit and able as this role does require a degree of physical activity.
