What is your job role at Dunmow Group?

I've been with Dunmow for 14 months, my title is Head of Hazardous Waste which involves providing technical advice and sales to our customers with anything outside of the normal construction waste. This would include garage wastes, contaminated soils, chemicals, bulk liquids, basically anything that can't go into a skip.

I am also responsible for our National Solutions Dept where we are able to support customers with waste services outside our operational area. We can offer skips to Cornwall, muck away in London, and Aggregates in Gloucester. By using us, clients have one point of contact for multiple services - a 'one-stop shop' as it has been known. I also provide commercial support and sales to the wider business for everything that Dunmow offers.

What is the best part of working for Dunmow Group?

Having worked in the waste industry for many years, what attracted me to Dunmow was the energy and entrepreneurship of the director's Sam and Ed. I could see the potential for growth and I was keen to work in a region I was unfamiliar with having worked extensively in the Midlands and London. New client base and new opportunities. Probably the best thing about working for Dunmow is the breadth of things going on, no day is the same, lots to challenge oneself and room for growth and development.

What is the favourite part of your job?

Definitely the variety - speaking to customers, building relationships and doing deals, operational roles, mentoring new and younger members plus the energy of the team.

Can you explain Dunmow in three words?

Fun, challenging and driven.

What is something that people don't know about you?

I was a schoolboy chorister for over 10 years appearing on tv and singing in St Pauls Cathedral!

What's the most unusual thing in your desk draw?

I don't have drawers - as you can tell by the state of my desk!

Food Heaven and Food Hell?

Definitely something Italian for my food heaven... let's go with spaghetti mariana. For food hell, I am always up for trying anything but I did once struggle on chicken foot soup.

What's your favourite Emoji?

The only one I will admit to using is the thumbs up! 👍🏼
